| POWERGRID conferred Excellence Awards for 2008-09 | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 15: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Navratna Company and the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of the country, has been conferred with the prestigious ‘MoU Excellence Award’ for the year 2008-09 by Department of Public Enterprises of the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises for being the top performer in the Energy Sector.
POWERGRID has also been bestowed with the Scope Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to the Public Sector Management (2008-09) - Large Scale PSE Category. Both the awards were presented to S.K. Chaturvedi, CMD, and POWERGRID by Prime Minister of India in a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on December 15, 2010.
POWERGRID has been consistently rated ‘Excellent’ based on the performance vis-à-vis targets in the MoU signed with Ministry of Power since signing of its first MoU for 1993-94. POWERGRID has received this prestigious ‘MoU Excellence Award’ on total nine occasions, continuously in a row for last six years (i.e. from 2003-04 to 2008-09) which is a rare feat achieved by any Public Sector Enterprise.
