| Stop unauthorized operation of industrial units: Env Committee | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 15: Environment Committee of Legislative Assembly has underlined the need for stern action against the stone crushers, brick kilns and other industrial units operating unauthorizedly, adding these units are responsible for creating pollution in the State.
Committee, which met here under the chairmanship of MLA, Mir Saifullah observed that government must stop it forthwith.
Committee sought action taken report from the concerned with regard to closure of un-authorized brick kilns, stone crushers and Industrial units. The authorities were also asked to take action for making nallahas and rivers of the state free from pollution. While discussing the role and the functioning of Disaster Management Authorities, Mir Saifullah suggested for strengthening these authorities and making availability of sufficient funds for meeting any eventualities.
