Pakharpora being developed as pilgrim tourist destination: Rather

PAKHARPORA (BUDGAM), Dec 15: The revered shrine of Sultan Ali (AA) at Pakharpora is being developed in a big way to promote pilgrim tourist in the area.
About Rs 4 crore has been earmarked to Yusmarg development Authority for creating basic infrastructure for pilgrims and the tourist visiting the shrine. This was announced by the Minister for Finance A. R. Rather while addressing series of public meetings at Yusmarg and Pakharpora here today.
He said that Rs. 23 crore are being spent to widen and macadamize 21 kms long road stretch from Yusmarg to Pakhpora and Yusmarg to Charar-i-Sharief, adding that this vital road projects is of prime importance for promoting tourism activities in the area. He asked concerned engineers to complete road project within stipulated eighteen months’ time frame.
Rather said that comprehensive road connectivity has been undertaken to link all the remote and inaccessible villages with the main trunk roads to give fillip to economic activities for improving the living conditions of this kandi belt. He said two vital bridges are under construction to connect Darwan-Chuntinar with Watakallo and Kanidajan-Nowgam-Brenpathry-Hafroo-Batapora.
He said that development of Yusmarg as a hub of adventure tourism would create ample job avenues for the un-employed youth of the area. Minister said that the present dispensation under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Omar Abdullah has set into motion a golden era of development adding that next four years would be crucial for taking the state to the new heights of development and prosperity.
He called upon the people to cooperate with the administration and executing agencies to help government in speedy socio-economic transformation of the State adding that peace and tranquility was imperative to achieve the goal. He said every citizen of the State have a right of equal opportunities of development and prosperities and reaffirmed government’s resolve for uniform development and equal social justice to the people in all the three regions of the State.
