| SVO produces challan against SMC Official | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 15: The state vigilance organization (SVO) today produced challan against a Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) official in the court of special judge anti-corruption, Srinagar.
The challan was produced against Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, son of Mohammad Maqbool Sheikh of Rawalpora, the then incharge 'birth and death reporter' in SMC in case FIR No 34/2008, according to SVO sources.
The case was registered on receipt of a written complaint by Manzoor Ahmad Khan, son of Abdul Rashid Khan of Bemina, alleging that he had demanded a bribe of 5,000 from him for getting his temporary shed registered in SMC.
Acting on his complaint, SVO men had caught Sheikh red handed while demanding and accepting 5000 as bribe from Manzoor.
