Petrol prices hiked fifth time in last months | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 15: Common man already reeling under the ever increasing inflation in his life is let to face another onslaught on his pocket as price of petrol has increased Rs 2.96 per litre from the existing price. This is fifth hike in the petroleum products in last six months adding burden on the common man. In the month of July the petrol price was hiked for about Rs 3.75. Vivek Raina- a resident of Janipur stated that that with step of the government, the problems of the public will increase as prices of essential commodities like vegetables, cereals, food stuff is bound to increase further along with increased petrol price rise. The petrol rise is connected to every common work such as even a vendor uses the petrol in the vehicle to buy the stuff from the market early morning. This rise also adds to the increase in the price of fruits and vegetables which are already on the peak. Radhika Sharma- a housewife and resident of Bakshi Nagar states that the petrol price will not only affect the workmen but also the kitchen will be affected as the vegetable process will also hike. She added that the five times hike in the petrol price from the last six months reveal the careless attitude of the government towards bringing the situation to its normal form. She said that the now the bus operators will certainly ask for the fare hike. Mohinder Lal- a farmer of R S Pura area said that due to the rise in petrol price the seeds and fertilizer rates will also experience a hike. He further added that the market is already facing the scarcity of these things and now increase in fuel price will add to their existing problems.
