Non-camp KPs discuss PM’s job package | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 16: A meeting of the Non-Camp Displaced Coordination Committee was held to take stock of the political and other developments in the state. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of D N Kissu Chairman, Non-Camp displaced co-ordination Committee. Kissu, while addressing the gathering said that the PM’s Rehabilitation Package of 1500 crores had not been implemented thus far. “The ex-gratia paid to the displaced KP’s for the burnt properties has been only partially paid. The government must pay the assessed amount for the gutted properties immediately. The overnment must immediately remove the draconian condition attached with the PM’s special employment package for the displaced youth. The inhuman affidavit that is being sought from the displaced youth for serving in Kashmir Valley alone needs to removed,” he maintained. The committee demanded that the displaced Kashmiri Pandits, who reside in rented houses may be allotted quarters at Jagti or the feasible rent may be paid to the displaced Non-Camp Kashmiri Pandits. “There is a need to make the medical fund available with the Relief Commissioner hassle free and without administrative bottlenecks. The fund needs to be kept in readiness for patients suffering from heart ailments, malignancy and patients on dialysis,” it said. The members of the committee expressed concern that there are a large segment of displaced population who have become overage or are eligible for the PM’s employment package for one reason or the other be given a one time grant of Rs 25 lakh for doing their own business.
