| Legislative Committee stresses timely procurement of CT scan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Dec 16: Taking strong note of unnecessary delay in purchasing six CT scans of Jammu division, the Departmental Related Committee (DRC) of Legislative Council on Health department has instructed the concerned officers to purchase the same immediately.
The Committee which met here today under the chairmanship of MLC Mohammad Rashid Qureshi, discussed the functioning of the department besides reviewing implementation of various healthcare schemes in urban and rural areas of Jammu province.
Legislators, Mr. Mohammad Yousuf Taing, B. R. Kundal, Subash Chander Gupta, Syeed Asgar Ali and. Khalid Najib Suharwardy gave several suggestions for further improvement and effective implementation of healthcare schemes to cater to the diagnostic and treatment requirements of the people especially those living in remote and inaccessible pockets of the state.
The meeting was informed that two CT Scans are presently available at Gandhi Nagar Hospital and SDH hospital Kathua but the facility in Kathua is not functioning for lack of the specialist. In this regard, the Committee asked the Chief Medical Officer to impart training to the Radiologist already working there.
