Rs 3.5 cr earmarked to upgrade power infrastructure in Bahu Fort areas: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Dec 16: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has said that coalition Government has earmarked Rs. 3.5 crore for up gradation of power infrastructure in Bahu Fort and its adjoining areas. He added that existing 33/6.6 KV receiving station having capacity of 2x6.3 MVA and catering to Ravi Tawi Lift Irrigation as well as local areas of Bahu Fort, Gorkha Nagar, Sheikh Nagar, Pacca Talab, Kacha Talab, Bazigar Basti, Boria Colony, Shahabad and Qasim Nagar will be revamped. The Minister said this after laying the foundation stone of 33/11 KV capacity receiving station, to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.50 crore by Power Development Department (PDD). Bhalla said that during the last couple of years, existing receiving station at Bahu Fort has experienced overloading necessitating power cuts during peak summer and winter seasons adding that in order to mitigate this problem, 1x10 MVA, 33/11 KV receiving station has been proposed which will provide regular and dependable power at 11 KV level on completion fulfilling thus a long pending demand of local residents. The Minister said that focus of the Government is to develop Bahu Fort on modern lines by providing all basic amenities to the people including drinking water, electricity, road connectivity, education, healthcare and surface drains
