| Sharma visits PHQ inspects Police Darbar Move establishments | | Police encouraging sports culture in J&K: DGP | | Jammu, November 6 - The Director General of Police, Mr. Gopal Sharma along with top brass police officers today visited various police establishments including Police Headquarter (PHQ), Armed Police, Home Guard & Civil Defence, Police Telecommunication, Police Construction Division, and other wings of J&K Police that opened here today following annual Darbar Move to the winter capital of the State, While interacting with the officers and officials, the Director General of Police appreciated all ranks of PHQ and other wings for putting in best efforts during transit days to open the records in time and making all the sections fully functional on the first day of darbar move in the winter capital. He enquired about the infrastructure, working conditions and residential accommodation available to the employees. Mr. Sharma, on his arrival at (PHQ) was received by Additional Directors General of Police, Mr. P.S.Gill, Mr. Kuldeep Khuda, Mr. Madan Lal, Inspectors General of Police, Mr. P.L.Gupta, Mr. J.A. Makhdoomi, Mr.A.R.Khan, Dr. S.P.Vaid, Mr. Naveen Aggarwal, Sheikh Owais Ahmed, Mr.A.K.Gupta, and other senior police officers. A guard of honour was presented by the contingents of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police. Speaking at the function organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police in honour of best sports persons, while giving the awards and certificates to the winners of various sports events held during the year, Mr. Sharma said “our endeavor is to give nation-wide exposure to our sports persons for creating better avenues for them, he said adding that the Jammu and Kashmir Police brought laurels to the state in the recent years at the national level but efforts should continue to achieve more and more laurels for the state police and this odyssey will continue”. On the occasion, Mr. Sharma announced one advance increment in favour of those police sports persons who participated at the All India National Level Police Games and brought laurels to the state police Earlier, welcoming the Director General of Police and other top ranking police offices, the Inspector General of Police (Armed) Sheikh Owais Ahmed dwelt on the sports activities held in the year and also apprised the DGP about ongoing sports activities during winter session. |
