Industries Association rue red tapism | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 16: The Association of Industries flayed the attitude of officers of the various Govt. Deptts dealing in purchases. Association pointed that Govt. officers are in the habit of violating the Govt. orders especially the price and purchased preference which has clearly been granted by the Govt vide its Cabinet decision No. 19/1 date 23.01.2004 and subsequently Govt. Order No. 21-Ind dated 27.01.2004. Association further asserted that state Govt leaves no stone unturned to invite investment in industrial sector and provides various incentives but their functionaries do not adhere to the Govt. Orders. The officers, as it has been brought to the notice of Association always prefer to the dealers from outside the State rather to encourage local industry. Association of Industries appealed to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the Minister for Industries & Commerce Surjit Singh Slathia to intervene in the matter and issue necessary instructions to the officers of all the Deptt’s to adhere to the Govt. Order in letter and sprit viz-a-viz purchase and price preference to the local SSI units.
