| Dehradun police hands over 2 HM ultras to J&K police | | | JAMMU, Dec 15: A police team from Doda today took the custody of a Hizbul Mujkahideen (HM) divisional commander and his associate from the Dehradun police.
The Dehradun police had apprehended HM divisional commander Gulam Nabi alias Javed Qureshi and his accomplice Tanvir Ahmad, both residents of Marmat, Doda, on December 10 night, ahead of the passing out parade of Indian Military Academy.
Police sources said the duo were produced in the court of additional chief judicial magistrate of Dehradun, which handed them over to a Doda police which had gone there to take their custody.
They were arrested from Azadpur area of Dehradun when police were checking vehicles following a central intelligence input that some terrorists were in the capital city.
Nearly 14 cases of murder and loot are registered against Qureshi in Doda district.
DGP Kuldeep Khoda had said their hand in the Varanasi blast was suspected. |
