Despite Sahil’s hat trick TCC loses in T20 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, December 17: Hat trick by Sahil for Vinod Cricket Club (VCC) could not make any difference after Trikuta Cricket Club (TCC) chased the target to win the match by one wicket in the DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament underway at Sports Stadium, here today. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, VCC set a target of 131 runs for the loss nine wickets, which, in reply, TCC chased in 18.4 overs with one wicket in hand. Anuj was top scorer with unbeaten 33 while Gagan and Moti contributed 24 and 21 runs respectively. From TCC, Kamalpreet claimed three wickets and Anumodhan Gupta bagged two. Later, TCC chased the target despite four-wicket haul by Sahil, including a hat trick in 18.4 overs. Balbir Singh played brilliant innings of 49 runs, followed by Ashok (25) and Anumodhan (not out 27). Sahil took four wickets for 18 runs while Sunny took two for just seven runs. For his all-round performance, Anumodhan was adjudged man of the match. He was presented a cash prize of Rs 500 by former vice-president of Municipal Committee Kathua, Jatinder Singh `Pappu’. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Young Hearts defeated Advocate XI by 47 runs. Batting first, Young Hearts made 140 runs for three in allotted 16 overs, which, in reply, Advocate XI could not chase and bowled out for 73 runs in 13.5 overs.
