Govt committed to improve life in rural areas: Wani | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT DODA, Dec 17: Improving quality of life in rural areas of J&K has always been the top agenda of present that coalition Government in the state, MLA Doda Abdul Majid Wani said here today. Addressing a gathering at village Parbati in Ghat block of Doda constituency, Abdul Majid Wani said that coalition Government is committed to strengthen basic civic facilities and to promote access to all economic opportunities and social services, including increased agricultural incomes and employment opportunities for the local villagers. Around 65% of the State's population is living in rural areas. The state Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to provide people in rural areas the same quality of life as is enjoyed by people living in sub urban and urban areas. Accompanied by the district officers, MLA Doda also conducted Public Darbar at Parbati, Chatta and Malwana Jagir.Regarding pending claims of land compensation & disputes of alignment of roads viz., Behri to Posta, Parraypura to Gundna and Abli Masri, ACR Doda & the Executive Engineer R&B Department were asked by MLA Doda to sort out same after taking into confidence the general public. People were assured that their interests shall be watched in general and the R&B Department shall ensure safety of their properties while undertaking development works in their area. Regarding absence of staff at PHC in Ludna Sheikhpura area, Deputy Commissioner Doda was asked telephonically to take strict action against the absent officials of the PHC.MLA Doda also inspected MNREGA.
