Shubam emerges highest wicket-taker in NZ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, December 17: Young Shubam Pundir of Jammu has emerged as highest wicket taker in North Zone in the just concluded under-14 cricket tournament under the banner of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). A trainee of Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy (MGCA), Shubam also hit a century and a half century while giving his all round performance for the team. As per the records available with SAN, Shubam made century against Himachal Pradesh and took five wickets. Later, in another match played against formidable Punjab, he scored 41 runs and clinched five wickets. In the last match against Delhi, Shubam made unbeaten 50 and secured one wicket to emerge as highest wicket taker in the zone. Meanwhile, four more players from the Academy represented J&K in under-14 age category and performed well. They were Pushpinder, Suryansh, Tushar Sharma and Nitesh. Three other trainees of the Academy represented the state in under-19 (Jaswinder Singh) and under-16 (Hisham Saleem and Subrat). These young cricketers have been trained by Amit Yadav (NIS), Ravi Sharma (Ranji player) and Lokender Sotki.
