BJYM resents victimization of ET by Govt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, Dec 17: Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State Secretary y has condemned "un- democratic" attitude of state Government towards Early Times and termed it as unfortunate and "murder of democracy." Criticizing the vindictive attitude of the coalition government against the state's most popular and accepted daily English paper Early Times, Advocate Dinkar Gupta said that the newspaper always tried to raise the voice of underprivileged and particularly Jammuties who are facing discrimination at the hands of Kashmiri rulers for the past several years. He severely criticized the Omar led NC government which according to him was the most corrupt and anti-people regime. "Scared of getting exposed by Early Times, has been trying in vain to muzzle the popular voice of Jammu", he said. He alleged that coalition government had adopted un-democratic means to harass some newspapers. "This is murder of democracy", he said. Accusing the government of harassing pro-Indian and patriotic Jammu based media, he said the "government had failed to tame the Srinagar based newspapers that write against the country." He said stopping advertisements to the Early Times was not justified. "The party will raise the issue at proper forum and will fight for protecting the fourth pillar of democracy if the government did not change its attitude towards Jammu based media", he said. |
