JAMMU, NOV 6 The Jammu and Kashmir Government today named former Supreme Court judge Sagir Ahmed as head of the Working Group that will deal with relations between the Centre and the state.
Announcing Justice Ahmed's name at a press conference here, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed the hope that the opposition National Conference would take part in the meetings of all the five Working Groups.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had announced the setting up of five Working Groups earlier this year to go into various aspects of Kashmir issue.
He said that the Group, which would go into the Centre-state relations, would meet in Delhi later this month.

The National Conference had announced its withdrawal from all the five working groups on October 25 alleging that the human rights situation in the state was very bad.
The other four groups deal with confidence-building measures across segments of society, strengthening relations across the Line of Control, economic development which will evolve a strategy that ensures balanced economic development and ensuring good governance.
