| SPT organises free medical camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 18:Shanti Path Trust, Trikutanagar, Jammu held a free medical camp at Dwarka Nath Shastri Samadhi Sthal, village Swanjana here today.
During the camp nine hundred and thirty eight patients were checked and disgnosed.
The team of doctors included Dr Ashok Kumar Sharma, eye specialist with his one associates, Dr Rubina Mirza ,gynecologist, Dr Mohan Lal Menia, ENT specialist from GMC Jammu; Dr Manik Sharma,dentist with seven probationers and a technician from IGGMC Jammu; Dr Uma Sharma from BN Hospital and Dr D P Sharma, former programme officer of J&K AIDS Control Society.
During the camp fifty two cases of cataract were detected and their free operations are being organized on twenty first December 2010, eleventh and eighteen January 2011. Dental team led by Dr Manik Sharma in addition to attending to the patients also carried out social oral health awareness campaign among the masses.
Twenty four cases were identified for free provision of artificial dentures. Dr D P Sharma educated the audience about AIDS, its consequences, prevention and finally treatment with the help of charts. Most of the patients were very poor and from far flung remote villages. Free medicines as per the prescription of the doctors were provided to the patients.
