| 47 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion organizes Medical Mela | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 18: As part of the Indian Army’s continuing endeavour to reach out to the populace under Operation Sadbhavna, 47 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (BIHAR) under the aegis of Headquarters 8 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, organised a medical mela at Kandi Khass in district Kupwara. Kandi Khass is a remote village in Kupwara, which does not have much of medical facility. This camp reached out to the people of Kandi, Tarachh, Nutnussa, Nagri Malhapura, Zalurah and nearby smaller hamlets.
The Medical Mela was organised with the assistance of the civil administration and 328 Field Hospital. The presence of specialists including a dentist and lady doctors
ensured expert medical care at the doorsteps of the rural population. A total of 1500 patients of varying age groups benefited from the Medial Camp. Necessary cases were referred to other hospitals. Free medicine was distributed.
In addition to the Medical Camp, to make the environment livelier, sports and cultural activities were also conducted in the premises of Boys Higher Secondary School, Kandi.
The event was highly appreciated by the rural population. It went a long way in achieving the goal of Jawan aur Awam, Aman Hai Muqam.
