| Atman Premier League: DGP XI enters final | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 18: Sailing on fine innings played by trio of Shashi Kumar, Manzoor Ilahi and skipper Rajesh Gill, the Director General of Police (DGP) XI today entered into the final of Atman Premier League T20 Cricket Cup underway at MA Stadium, here.
In the semi-final, played today, DGP XI defeated Director Health Services XI by six wickets.
Earlier, batting first, Director Health XI made 116 for the loss of six wickets with Rajpal Singh contributing highest 28 runs while Satinder and Satyankar played valuable innings of 22 and 19 runs respectively. From DGP XI, Manzoor Ilahi clinched two wickets while Shashi, Balwan, Shabir and Ashwani shared apiece each.
In reply, DGP XI chased the target rather easily making 117 in 15.3 overs losing four wickets. Shashi was top scorer with 26 runs, followed by Rajesh Gill (25) and Manzoor Ilahi (unbeaten 20). Ashwani contributed 13 runs and remained not out.
Director Health XI, Ashok bagged two wickets while Anirodhan took one. Shashi Kumar was adjudged man of the match.
This tournament is being organised by police officers and advocates of Jammu under the overall supervision of former Ranji trophy player, Rajesh Gill.
