First annual day celebrated by Banyan School Tiny tots display talent in ‘UDAAN’ 2010 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Dec 18: Banyan International School celebrated its Annual Day christened as ‘UDAAN’ in the school premises here today. The students presented a captivating programme with a hub of colourful cultural activities which mesmerized the audience. Ensuring participation of all the students, the objective was to provide opportunity to each and every child to show his/her talent. The Chief guset on the occasion was Director General of Police, J&K Kuldeep Khoda while as Prof. Varun Sahni, Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu and Janak Raj Gupta, ex M.P. were guests of honour. Mr. Ayyar (DGM SBI), Mrs. Farida Munnir (MLC), Mrs. Sylvia Sahni, Mr. Sneh Gupta Chairman of Shaurya Educational Society along with Mr. Vicky Mahajan and Sahil Mahajan from Shaurya Educational Society along with large number of guests and parents were present on the occasion. The function was declared open after lighting the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest. It was followed by Saraswati Vandana by the students. Prof. Varun Sahni appreciated the programme and laid stress on the importance of School education which he said lays strong foundation for the students. DGP Khoda was all praise for the efforts put in by the staff and students and appreciated the performances by the students. He emphasized that the academic education is important but equally important is co-curricular activities for personality and confidence building. He stressed the need to have such activities in future for the overall development of the students. He appreciated the growth of the institutions in short span of two years. S. Chauhan, the Principal Banyan International School in her annual Report said, that school has grown from strength to strength and hoped that students will bring laurels to the school in coming years.
