Eight more farmers commit suicide in Vidarbha

Nagpur, Nov 06: Eight more debt-ridden farmers in Vidarbha region have committed suicide during the last two days, an NGO working for the cause of farmers claimed here on Monday.

With this, a total number of 1,065 farmers have ended their lives since June 2005, a release issued by the president of Vidarbha Jan Andolan Samiti, Kishore Tiwari, said.

The deceased were identified as Bharat Jambhulkar, Bhethara (Yavatmal), Shivaji Wanode, Kharbi (Yavatmal), Shankar Gaidhane, Kabhargaon (Washim), Shobha Pawar, Naigaon, Shankar Uma, Dhamodi (Yavatmal), Rama Suradkar, Shegaon (Buldana), Keshav Bakal, Tiwdhi (Washim), the release added.
