| MAM College organises workshop on 'Health & Hygiene' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 18: As part of series of programmes being organized by the NSS Units and Capacity Building Centre of the MAM college, a two day workshop was organized by the Department of Life Long Learning, University of Jammu on 'Health and Hygiene'
Dr. Amita Gupta, Deptt. of Gyanaecology Govt. SMGS Hospital, Jammu Dr. T.R.Raina HOD Deptt. Of Immunohaemotology and blood Transfusion Medicine, Dr. Rakesh Bahl from Govt. Medical College Jammu and Dr. N.K.Tripathi from University of Jammu were the Resource Persons. The presentations made by the Resource Persons were highly informative and impressive with a focus on Adolescence, Mother Health, Girl Child Care, Blood related problems and diseases, Diet, Obesity, Fast/Junk food, Stress, Drug abuse, Healthy life style, Hypertension, Diabetes. The causes, preventive measure for these diseases were also discussed. In addition yoga exercises were also held for the participants.
Dr. Poonam Dhawan, Director Department of Life Long Learning, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest who appreciated the quality of participation and organization of the programme.
Dr. Ajeet Angral, Principal of the college while speaking on the occasion stresses that since the majority of population in India comprised of youngsters and they were future of the Nation, and only if they are healthy, it would ensure the health of the nation. He also appreciated the commitment and dedication of the students in organizing such programmes.
During the workshop, ten students made presentations, Zeenat Khan, Ms. Kansha Abrol, and Gautam Gupta secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. At the end five group leaders presented the reports on healthy life style.
Prof. Chander Shekhar, Prof. Shobha Gupta and Prof. Anju Gupta were the judges for the workshop. |
