| History sheeter-turned- contractor beaten by people | | | ET REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 18: A history sheeter-turned-contractor was today beaten by some people and traffic cops at the busy Bikram Chowk here when he attempted to flee in his car after hitting an old man.
Police sources said Brahmjyot alias Citu of Shakti Nagar was going in his car (JK02AG/899) when he hit an old man at Bikram Chowk, resulting in injuries to him.
However, instead of shifting the injured to hospital, he sped away. An attempt by people and traffic police cops to stop him proved futile as he hit some of them in a bid to flee the spot.He was chased by the people and apprehended near government polytechnic college, about 150 ft ahead of Bikram Chowk towards Gandhi Nagar.
Sources said he was given a sound beating by the angry people and traffic police cops.
He was later taken into custody by police and whisked away to police station. |
