| BS Salathia is new President of BAJ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 18: In the keenly contested election of Bar Association Jammu held here today, Advocate BS Salathia has been declared elected as President of Bar Association Jammu in the three corner contest. Salathia secured 600 votes out 971 polled votes.
Advocate MU Salaria has been declared elected as Vice President Bar Association Jammu who secured 406 votes in four cornered contest. Advocate Vikram Sharma has been declared elected as General Secretary secured 338 votes in four corner contest.
Advocate Parimoksh Seth who secured 274 votes has been declared elected as Joint Secretary in five corner contest.The post of treasurer will be held by Sandeepa Kumari who got elected as Cashier by securing 550 votes in three corner contest.
Total number of votes polled were 971 votes. Advocate Salthia secured highest number of votes 600 and has been declared elected President second time.
It is worthwhile to mention here BS Salathia is 28th President of Bar Association Jammu. The election was conducted by Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi as Returning Officer. According to the Returning Officer the newly elected team for two years will take charge of the BAJ on December 21, 2010. |
