| Master Club, Kherian win in T20 tourney | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, December 19: Master Cricket Club Chandwan and Kherian Cricket Club Jammu won their respective matches in the ongoing DySP Manjit Singh Memorial Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here today.
In the first match of the day, Master Club defeated Azad Cricket Club Kathua by 37 runs. Batting first, Master Club set a target of 145 runs for the loss three wickets. Ashwani was top scorer with 35 runs while Surjeet and Happy contributed 34 and 32 runs respectively. Lalit played quickfire innings of 17-ball 26 runs.
Later, Azad Club could not chase the total and the whole side bowled out for 107 runs in 18 overs. Kulbir claimed three wickets for six runs in four overs from Master Club to guide his to an impressive 37 runs win.
In another match of the day, Kherian Club Jammu trounced Isher Cricket Club Jammu by big margin of 54 runs. Earlier, Kherian Club won the toss and batting first made 153 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Ajay made 18-ball 39 runs while Suresh added 26. In reply, Isher Club could not chase the total and exhausted 20 overs quota for 99 runs losing eight wickets.
For his all round performance of 39 runs and one wicket, Ajay was named man of the match.
