| Jan visits several localities of Poonch | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 19: MLA Poonch Ajaz Jan conducted a tour of Poonch town especially the Christian colonies in wake of upcoming Christmas festival and finalised the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the holy festival.
He sanctioned Rs 5 lakh out of his CDF for the development of drainage pattern and sewerage in Nai Basti area and church Kamsar Poonch and Mohalla Radio station after a demand was raised by the residents on the spot.
Jan directed the authorities to start the work by tomorrow morning and complete the same before the Christmas festival. Later he also visited the Purani Poonch colony and inspected the works going on to improve the drainage system in town. Dissatisfied with quality of the work where 80% stones were being used in raisings side walls he directed to stop the work immediately and called on Deputy Commissioner Poonch Kuldeep Khajuria regarding the same who assured the legislator to personally visit the site and will order enquiry regarding the quality of work. The MLA Complained that the work was in progress without the presence of any technical staff from the municipality and later talked to Director Local Bodies for taking strict action on the complaints being raised by the public.
During his tour of Poonch town he identified 100 spots for installing of high beam electric street lights after consultation with the residents of the area.
