Cong fountain head of many evils in state : BJP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 19: The BJP has termed the Congress as fountain head of many evils in Jammu and Kashmir including the separatism, terrorism, malpractices, regional misbalancing and several others. Addressing a meeting of the party activists, the leader of the BJP Legislature Party, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta said that an air of uncertainty about the future of this State has been created by the utterances of Omar Abdullah, by stating that Jammu and Kashmir is a “dispute” coupled with some top Congress leaders of New Delhi finding “nothing objectionable” in the statement of their supported Chief Minister. This was against the law and Constitution, he added and emphasized all this must be opposed in the interest of unity and integrity of the country as any silence on such like issues would strengthen the moves of the elements hostile to India and its welfare. The meeting was convened in connection with the preparations for “Ekta Sankalp Rally” to be held here on December 24. Tracing the history of events Prof. Gupta pointed out that Maharaja Hari Singh of the State using his legal authority had signed the same Instrument of Accession which was signed over 560 other kings and Nawabs of the country but in case of Jammu and Kashmir the Congress leadership under communal considerations to appease Sheikh Mohd Abdullah granted a separate status to this State and Article 370 was incorporated in the Constitution despite opposition by the nationalists including Muslim leaders like Moulana Hasarat Mohani. The BJP leader also pointed out that first of all the Congress leadership in Kashmir adopted the Muslim Conference and renamed it as National Conference but when the leader of the NC started dubious moves in 1953, the same Sheikh was deposed and jailed. Prof. Gupta said that political corruption leads to all sorts of corrupt practices and Congress in collaboration with the NC are indulging in such practices. In this regard, he questioned the creation of extra-constitutional political post of several boards and appointing party men their members. Many of them were even defeated by the people at the battle of hustings. He assailed the coalition of the State of being failure on various fronts and resorted to discriminatory policies against Jammu and Ladakh. |
