KC School celebrates Annual Day
Guv for forging effective relationship among universities, colleges

JAMMU, Dec 19: The Governor, NN Vohra, has called for forging a close, meaningful and effective relationship among the Universities and their affiliated colleges and between the colleges and the high and higher secondary schools for progressively improving the educational standards and the quality of teaching in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Governor, as Chief Guest, was addressing the 13th Annual Day Function of the K. C. Public School, Akhnoor Road, here today.
The Governor observed that this vertical and lateral synergy among the educational institutions could bring about significant improvements in the standards of education and the quality of teaching, for the larger benefit of the entire student community. He added that there is a need for further supplementing the resources for the universities, colleges and the high and higher secondary schools so that they are able to effectively meet their objectives.
Referring to the participation of the children of the Government School, Narayana, a border village, at the Annual Day function of the K. C. Public School today, the Governor observed that such relationships and close ties between an urban resourceful educational institution and a rural school can immensely benefit the children of the latter. He hoped that such amicable collaborations would be enlarged and further strengthened in the coming years. “If the urban schools which are fortunate to have sound financial resources and good infrastructure, provide help and collateral support to institutions which are not so fortunate such laudable initiatives shall boost the cause of quality education”.
On the occasion, Vice Chairman of the SchoolRaju Choudhary presented a memento to the Governor.
The Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Prof. Varun Sahni, was the Guest of Honour, on the occasion.
The function was attended by a large gathering which included the management, staff, students, their parents and prominent citizens.
