Tarigami for regularizing adhoc, contractual employees | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 19: CPI (M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has flayed the government for delaying implementation of its own decision of regularizing the services of adhoc and contractual employees. These employees have been facing worst kind of injustice due to dithering attitude and vacillating approach of the government over the crucial issue, he said. In a statement issued here today, Tarigami said the decision to regularize these employees having completed seven years’ service and above, has been taken by the State cabinet last year following which the Legislatures enacted legislation also but despite that the contractual and adhoc employees have not been confirmed yet, he rued urging the government to act fast on the matter. Maintaining that non implementation of the decision can dent the credibility of the government; he said nobody will be allowed to play with the future of thousands of the youth in Jammu and Kashmir. He said these officials have been looking forward to their regularization for nearly a decade now and every time they have to face dejection and despondency. Such apathetic attitude of the administration is fuelling disillusionment among the youth; he said and reminded the government that these employees have been receiving pea nuts for their services which they have been sincerely rendering over the years. The aspirants already possess the requisite eligibility including seven years’ service and qualification criterion as provided in the act. Demanding regularization orders in their favor forthwith, Tarigami cautioned any further delay in the implementation of the decision will boomerang the government and negate its oft repeated slogans of transparency and accountability.
