1 dead, 8 hurt in multi-vehicle collision | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 19: In a multiple-vehicle collision, involving four vehicles, an autoricksha driver was killed and eight others were wounded near Paloura here late last night. An autoricksha (JK02D/9874) collided with a Qualias jeep (JK02Q5454) near Paloura last night. While the two drivers came out to see the damage done to their vehicles, a speeding truck rammed into the two vehicles, resulting in the instant death of autoricksha driver Paramjit Singh, son of Balwan Singh of Bhagwati Nagar and injuries to the Qualis driver and seven passengers. The truck driver later sped away. Another autoricksha (JK02W/5827) collided with the vehicles later, police sources said. With the help of locals, police later removed the vehicles to the roadside and evacuated to the injured to the GMC hospital where Paramjit was declared brought dead by the doctors. The injured were undergoing treatment at the hospital. They were identified as Rajinder Sharma of paloura, Ankit Kumar of Paloura, Basant Lal of Patta Paloura, Ganesh Singh of Ramban, Rohit of Paloura Top, Pawan Kumar of Paloura Top, Raja Aiyaz Ahmad and Mohammad Qadir, both residents of Rajouri. Meanwhile, motorcyclist Kamaljit Singh of Karalian, Ramgarh, was wounded on being hit by a truck at Chak Salarian. He was hospitalised. |
