| Property agent held for manhandling SDM, father | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 19: A property agent was today arrested by police for manhandling a sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) and his old father at their residence at Gandhinagar last night.
Police sources said property agent Amit Goel, who earlier ran a chemist shop on Purmandal road, last night threatened the old father of Amit Sharma, SDM, Dudu Basantgarh, over phone.
After a verbal duel over phone with the SDM's father, Goel forced his entry into their Gandhinagar house, the sources added. Sources said Goel manhandled the old man. When the SDM, who was at home, tried to save his father, he too was manhandled, the sources added.
Goel later fled the spot. Acting on the SDM's complaint, Gandhinagar police arrested him today from his residence at Chhani Himmat. Goel, a small time property agent, wanted the SDM and his family to withdraw a case of defamation registered by them against him at the Pirmitha police station on April 12 last.His wife had later called a press conference and levelled serious allegations against him.
