Vikram loses in second round of Grand Prix | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, December 20: State champion, Vikram Saini lost his second round tie played against another Indian, K Shrikant in the India Grand Prix Badminton Tournament. Confident after winning his first round match against a higher ranked shutter, Vikram fought well before he lost to Shrikant in straight sets 21-11, 21-9. It is pertinent to mention here that only two top players of the state, Vikram Saini and Vipul Saini played in the Grand Prix. While State No. 2, Vipul lost in the first round, Vikram won the opening tie. “Losing at prestigious competition like Grand Prix hardly makes any difference, what matter the most is participation and exposure we get playing at the international level. Such events help us improve our game and the confidence level,” Vikram told SAN here today.
