| Committee for inspection of bricks kilns constituted | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, DECEMBER 20- A committee of officers is constituted for inspection of Brick Kilns in the Jammu district which will verify and monitor that the price being charge by brick kiln owners are as per the price fixed by the higher authority.
According to District Magistrate Jammu Sanjeev Verma, during public grievance camps, general public has raised the issue of flagrant violation of norms by Brick Kilns like the price charge by brick kiln owners are much above the price fixed by the competant authority, quality of the bricks is not to the mark and the owners are not maintaining the record nor displaying the prices.
The Committee will comprise of ADC (N)/ Additional District Magistrate, Jammu as Convenor, SDM (Concerned)/Tehsildar (Concerned), Assistant Director, CA & PD, Jammu, Assistant Commissioner, Labour Jammu, Assistant Controller, Weights and Measures, Jammu, Representatives of Commercial Taxes and Pollution Control Board as members.
The first verification report must reach within 15 days and that periodical verifications and inspections shall be followed, once in the month. However, the committee will also carry out surprise inspections of these sites and submit a written report to the District Magistrate.
