| Kashmira Vahini to honour Asha Zaroo | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 20:Kashmira Vahini has decided to honour eminent theatre personality Asha Zaroo with “1st Vitasta Sukanya Samman for 2010”.
The “Nirnayak Mandal” of the Vahini presided over by its Patron Kirti Kalla in consultation with the select committee took the decision to confer the “1st Vitista Sukanya Samman” Zaroo.
Asha Zaroo has been selected for the Vitasta Sukanya Samman for her four decades of immense contribution to Kashmiri theatre, Radio and Television besides immensely contributing to exile consciousness of K.P community throughout her work.
The select committee received more than two dozen nominations from the community across the globe for K.P women who have excelled in the fields of Art, literature, science, medicine, theatre, journalism, social work and management.
Rama Shah, Chairperson Kashmira Vahini said that Kashmiri Pandit women have not received their due recognition and share, so “Vitasta Sukanya Samman” is a first attempt in this direction and she informed that the “Vitasta Sukanya Samman” will be conferred on Asha Zaroo on December 26 at Abhinav theatre.
