Government hikes fees on services provided by revenue deptt | More burden on poor man’s pocket | | SUMIT SHARMA EARLY TIMES REPROT JAMMU, Dec 20: The coming New Year instead of giving any gift is going to bring some worries and resentment for people of Jammu region as the government is all set to hike the fees on services provided by revenue department. The fee has to be deposited in Treasury Account Head of Revenue Department.The order to this effect has made its appearance at a time when resentment related to fuel hike has already brewed up among masses. Further hike on fees for revenue related works which are mandatory for every person of state has put a common man on a difficult pedestal who is already struggling to arrange a square meal. As per government order wide number Revenue (LB 17 of 2010 dated 10/12/2010) on debut hike on revenue related services mutation fees for urban people on sales, gift, mortgage etc of a piece of land has been fixed as Rs 1000 up to one kanal of land and fraction of land and for rural area one has to pay Rs 100 up to one kanal of land and fraction of land. While as for registration of inheritance fees has been set as Rs 200 for per mutation. The fee is applicable for those people residing in urban areas. The charge is fixed as Rs 100 for a person belonging to rural area. Likewise for the first time government has imposed fees on Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) commonly known as state subject as Rs 20 for per certificate of the file preparing for PRC. Going next, for getting income certificate every one has to pay Rs 20 on Rs 1 lakh, Rs 100 on Rs 5 lakh,Rs 500 upto Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1000 on certificate bearing amount above 50 lakh. For getting Farad Inthikiyab of sale, gift, mortgage etc people hailing from Urban area have to pay Rs 500 for per kanal or fraction of kanal while as ruralists has to pay Rs 100 for the same. However, for personal use only an urban man has to pay Rs 50 and ruralist has to pay Rs 20 for getting Farad Inthikyab of their piece of land. In the same way urbanist has to pay Rs 250 and ruralist Rs 20 for getting tracing of field. Further more for demarcation of land upto 5 kanal an urban man has to pay Rs 1000 and ruralist Rs 100. Government has also imposed ban on purchase and selling of land with in district Jammu in selective areas which including vegetable grown and water bodies land, but according to the Land Alienation Act any one can sell or buy agriculture land and for its conversion to other purpose he has to take permission from government.
