Jammu celebrates India Corporate week | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Dec 21: Registrar of Companies, J&K in association with Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Jammu, J&K Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Jammu Chapter of Institute of Company Secretaries of India, hosted deliberation on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as part of India Corporate Week 2010 being celebrated nation-wide from 14th to 21st December by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Umang Narula, Principal Secretary Industries & Commerce Also present on the occasion was Y.V.Sharma, President Chamber of Commerce &Industry, Jammu, CA.Virender K.Maini, Chairman, J&K Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Members from Jammu Chapter of Institute of Company Secretary of India. Registrar of Companies, J&K presented the Key note address and CA.Virender K.Maini deliberated in detail on Corporate Social Responsibility. Y.V.Sharma, President Chamber of Commerce &Industry, Jammu in his welcome address emphasized that the moment we start a business or trade, though it is for our individual gain but being an Indian, we should have some social responsibility towards each and every person and agency connected with our business. "We should adopt good Corporate Governance practices in our system and try our level best to perform our social responsibility towards our worker and employees, Stakeholders, environment, ethical values, human rights, and other social and economic development", he added. \ Delivering Key-note address, Manoj Kumar Bagri ROC, J&K highlighted that over 400 programmes are planned across the country. This is a commendable initiative taken by the Ministry to make it possible for the Government and the Corporate Sector and various Professional bodies to come together and deliberate upon the issue of great importance.
