| New threat: Kashmir without 'kafir' | | Tanzeemul Ikhwan won't allow Hindus' return to Valley | | B L KAK NEW DELHI, NOV. 6: The government of India--the Ministry of Home Affairs, to be precise--has, once again, cautioned the Jammu and Kashmir administration and other security agencies against subtle attempts by disruptive elements to communalise the situation. This follows the emerge of a new threat for the advocates of re-settlement of Kashmiri Hindu migrants in the Valley. Having come, as it did, from Pakistan's Tanzeemul Ikhwan, the threat, experts have warned, should not be under-estimated or ignored. Why this kind of threat? It is the product of the stand taken by Tanzeemul Ikhwan to send hundreds of 'fighters' to Kashmir to preserve its distinct Islamic haracter "with no kafir getting even an inch of land in the land of Islam". "The land of Kashmir is exclusivelt meant for the Muslims of Kashmir. Kafirs, such as Kashmir Pandits and other Hindus, have no place in this land of Muslims", asserts a printed document of Tanzemul Ikhwan. It has warned: "If these kafirs are found trying to return to the Valley of Kashmir, they will be taught a leson which they will have to remember till their end". Equally alarming is the mesage from Pakistan-based Tanzemul Ikhwan: "We want unhindered implementation of Sharia--that is, Muslim legal system--in whole of Muslim Kashmir. Opponents of this system should be dealt with firmly". Tanzemul Ikhwan is an Islamic movement, reportedly enjoying moral and material support from various Muslim sources and organisations, including Pakistan, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. The entire leadership of Tanzemul Ikhwan is drawn from retired senior Pakistani Army officers. Intelligence inputs from across the border have confirmed that hundreds of current officers and soldiers of Pakistan military attend the Ikhwan's ideological training sessions. The Ikhwan has also become a source of attraction and inspiration, to, for a number of retired and serving officers of the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence). No wonder, ISI's former chief, Lt. Gen. Hamid Gul, recently proclaimed: "Pakistani Army soldiers have always been religous, but now growing numbers of ofricers have turned Islamist". Lt. Gen. Gul himself is closely associated with Islamist groups. And he continues to advocate Kashmir's separation from the Indian Union. Tanzemul Ikhwan may differ with the choice of operations employed by the Lashkar-e-Toiba, but the two organisations are united on one thing, namely, increasing the number of madrasas (religious schools). The madrassa sytem has already become popular in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), particularly in outlying regions. The reason: Boys get free education, free food. And encouraging financial incentives if they want to fight in Jammu and Kashmir. Madrassa Haqqania, located in Peshawar sector, has already shot into prominece. This centre is associated with jihadi groups waging war in Kashmir, Bosnia and beyond. ==========================
