| Govt. will not spare land mafia: Azad | | | Jammu,November 6: Outlining his priority area in the coming months Chief Minister GhulamNabi Azad on Monday announced that now it is time to deal with the flourishing land mafia in the state. Addressing media men here on Monday after the durbar move offices reopened in Jammu, Azad made it clear that in the coming six months his governments focus will be retrieving encroached land from the grip of land mafia which has flourished in the state owing to close proximity with some senior administrative officers. He said, during a survey conducted in the last four five months government has gathered that about 130 lakh kanals of land majority of which belonged to Revenue department has been encroached upon by the land mafia and steps need to be taken to free this land. My government has decided to verify all records before tightening noose around big sharks. He said several among them have joined political parties and are running newspapers to escapre govt scrutiny. But I want to make it clear my govt will not spare anyone irrespective of their clout,he warned. Giving clean chit to employees working in the civil secretariat he said now there is no need to install automatic bio metric sensors at the entry point of the civil secretariat building for the sake of recording their attendance as employees have realized that it is their duty to come on time in office. |
