| VC JDA declares open badminton tourney | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, December 22: Vice-Chairman Jammu Development Authority (JDA), Vinod Sharma today declared open three-day open badminton tournament, organized by J&K Rural Sports Club in association with Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, here.
The competition is being held as part of the national building awareness campaign for strengthening socio, ecological and religious bonds of the society through the means of sports, culture and educational activities.
The opening day results: Boys: Davinder Singh bt Vismadh Singh; Amit bt Varun Jamwal; Kunal bt Davish Sharma; Jai Singh bt Navdeep; Chakshu bt Shubam Sharma; Dilpreet bt Ashleshwar. Girls: Rohini bt Palak; Harsha bt Amreen.
Earlier, speaking to the participants and other distinguished gathering, the chief guest appreciated the efforts of organizers and stressed that extra curricular activities are must for all-round development of society.
In his welcome address, president of the Club, Narinder Singh highlighted the objective of the campaign and felt that such activities are need of the hour.
Chairman of host school, Rajeshwar Mengi highlighted the importance of sports in an individual’s life.
Prominent among others present were Bhopinder Singh Bholla. Jagjeet Singh, Surinder Singh Latti and Manjeet Singh.
