JMC celebrates Christmas | Jesus embodiment of truth, piety: Dy. CM | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 22: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has said that Almighty has always sent prophets, avtars to guide mankind every time it went astray or was overpowered by greed, injustice and lust by mundane gains. The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing a religious function here today, convened to celebrate Christmas and greet the people on the occasion. He said that Jesus Christ was an embodiment of truth and piety, who taught people tolerance, peace, love and amity. He said the teachings of Isa (A.S) serve a beacon light for the entire humanity and we should strictly follow his principles. Greeting people especially JMC employees on the eve of Christmas Tara Chand lauded their role in maintaining cleanliness and hygienic conditions in Jammu city and towns of the region. Referring to various demands raised on the occasion, Tara Chand assured that their genuine problems would be looked into and considered sympathetically at the appropriate time. He said that government has already accorded sanction to the regularization of a large chunk of employees and promotion to various cadres of JMC and more steps would be taken for solving their problems at their earliest. He further said that a government has brought an end to manual scavenging process and sewerage treatment plants are being commissioned to provide relief to the Safai Karamcharis. Enumerating the initiatives taken by the present government Tara Chand said that the roads of Jammu are being widened and construction of more fly-overs is under considerations of the government to coupe the menace of traffic congestion. The function was among others attended by MLC, S. M. Gill, several priests of city Churches, Commissioner, JMC, S C Sahni, Joint Commissioner, JMC officers and officials of JMC.
