CPS a totally failed scheme in J&K | PHE’s mess | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 22: The much hyped Community Participation Scheme (CPS) started by the government for the benefit o f the daily rate wagers about one and a half years back has failed to serve its purpose, thanks to the red-tapism in the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department. It is pertinent to mention here that under this scheme the government had agreed to increase the wages of PHE workers of the Jammu division from Rs 500 per month under CPS to Rs 3300 per month to make the workers of Jammu division at par with the Kashmir division workers but still after a long tenure of scheme nothing has been done. This issue was raised by JKNPP leader Harsh Dev Singh in the budget session of 2009 after which the government agreed. Soon after the time passed the state government forgot to fulfill the aspirations of the meager wagers. Ravi Kumar a employee of PHE said that the department has not provided them the wages as announced before.
