| JKWWS organizes awareness programme on female feticide | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 23: Jay Kay Women Welfare Society, Jammu organized an awareness programme today here at village Agore of Block Bhalbal, in Jammu.
On the occasion. Masoda Begam , CDPO from Social Welfare Deptt. was the chief Guest while Agya Kour presided over.
Joyti Sharma and Madhu Bala from Govt.Primary School Garhi Brahmna Agore were the guest of honor.
Masoda Begam while addressing the student and inhabitants of the village said Pre natal sex determination and killing of the fetus with embryos has become the common practice in the civilized society despite the bigger claims of gender equality.
In view of the present scenario wherein the ratio of the female is decreasing especially in Jammu, she also quoted the reference with data of the Jammu distt which has decreased up to 900 comparably to 1000 males which is very serious and alarming situation.
While appreciating the efforts of JKWWS she said the society has a great contribution especially in the field of women and child development.
She also expressed hope that this mission of the society may bring some change in the aptitude of the masses.
Other women and students from the village recited a thought provoking poems and presented papers as well on the female feticide and described this immoral practice a social and ethical stigma for the whole humanity .
