Adventure camp held at Surinsar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, December 23: Tenzing Norgay Adventure Club of Sprawling Buds School, Chinore here organized an adventure camp at picturesque Surinsar, 27 kilometers from here. Over 80 students and 13 teachers of the school attended the camp. During the day-long activity conducted under the overall supervision of Sumit Khajuria, a senior mountaineer of the state, the participants were imparted training in artificial river crossing besides awareness about conservation of environment. Participants also carried out a five kilometer trekking in the beautiful surroundings of the Surinsar lake and were taught about the fauna and flora of the area. Sub-Inspector with Jammu and Kashmir Police, Everester, Ram Singh Slathia was chief guest on the occasion. He interacted with the participants and shared his mountaineering experiences, especially of the Everest, with the budding adventurers. He advised the students to keep clean the environment in general and camp area in particular during their ventures in the Himalaya. He also lauded the initiative of the school to conduct adventure activities for its students. Principal of the school, Pooja Sharma along with the Directors Rahul Sharma, Ramesh Khajuria, Arti Sharma and Savita Khajuria also accompanied the group.
