ST. Francis School celebrates Annual day ,Christmas

Akhnoor/Jammu: 23/12/2010: St. Francis Hr. Sec. School, Akhnoor today celebrated Christmas and annual day today. Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Sham Lal Sharma, J& K Govt. was the chief on the ocassion.
Function begin with the lighting of traditional lamp by the chief guest .
The students of the school presented varieties of programme, entertaining the huge gathering during the chill and shivering evening, symbolic of midnight celebrations at Christmas eve. It was jingle bells from the very beginning. Kinder Garten children and other tiny ones danced to the popular Christmas tunes, while many more danced to the tune of popular Waka…Waka. Christmas skit, portraying the birth of Lord Jesus Christ was the highlight. Christmas carols in Hindi and English were sung by the children melodiously. Dances of Punjabi, Dogra, Kashmiri and Ladhaki were presented by children of different age groups, entertaining the vast gathering.
Chief guest also presented awards to the position holders and subject toppers and the Champion of Champions trophy to the Achiever House, stated in his speech that the school was doing great things for the students of the backward areas and border villages. He admired the work of the Priests and Nuns of the diocese, doing unparalleled service in the field of education. He appreciated the hard work of the students and the staff. He also expressed his appreciation and respect for Fr. S. Joseph, the Principal. He wished all of Merry Christmas and hoped that 2011 would a wonderful year of opportunities.
Earlier during the program, Fr. Jeykumar, the Guest of Honour, and the Principal of Burn Hall School, Srinagar gave away the prizes and certificates to the school leaders, Animators and class toppers. He congratulated the efforts of the school management, the staff and the students. He observed that the school has progressed further with much pace and more quality. He encouraged the students to become more responsible citizens of the nation.
