Congress, BJP double standards stand exposed: PP
12/23/2010 11:12:25 PM
Early times report
Jammu Dec 23: "The Congress and BJP leadership stand totally exposed for their support to the remarks of J&K’s Chief Minister inside Assembly in October. Omar had stated that ‘JK was not integral part of India’. The Union Home Minister and his three musketeers (interlocutors) justified the statement of a constitutionally elected Chief Minister of J&K. BJP pronounced a cosmetic protest. On the other hand, both Congress and BJP leaders have condemned Samajwadi leader, Azam Khan for making a similarly objectionable statement on Centre-State relations vis-à-vis J&K". Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party said in a statement issued from party headquarters in New Delhi.
The Panthers Party Supremo said that condemning one and supporting the other on a similar issue exposed the double standards of Congress and BJP vis-à-vis Jammu and Kashmir which both of them have been using as ‘Babri Masjid’ for their electoral gains.
He said that both of them have been manipulating to provide an excuse to J&K Chief Minister to prolong his political stay in J&K even if he challenged the State Accession to the Union of India. Before accusing Azam Khan, the Congress and BJP should clarify their stand for their support to Omar Abdullah on the same issue. However the Panthers Party Chief said that, "We the people of J&K had joined Union with our open mind and we shall continue to be Indians as long as the world survives. Thousands of Abdullahs, Khans or Geelanis cannot change the resolve of 12 millions people of Jammu and Kashmir".
