| Bhim seeks PM’s intervention for release of prisoners | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Dec 23: Professor Bhim Singh, Chairman National Panthers Party and Member, National Integration Council has sought intervention of the Prime Minister to ensure release of political prisoners detained under PSA. By releasing the prisoners, Bhim said, the government of India will rebuild confidence among the political activists in the democratic system which stands failed in J&K thanks to Congress-NC rule. Bhim Singh accused the State government of defying the orders of the judiciary particularly that of the High Court of J&K which directed the government to release PSA prisoners including Mian Qayyum, Advocate and President of Kashmir Bar Association who was detained in Kathua District, 384 kms. away from his hometown. Singh reminded the Prime Minister that such harsh and suppressive measures against the political activists or advocates shall yield no result or bring them round to a conciliation path. The Panthers Party Chief demanded release of all political prisoners arrested under PSA without any delay so that confidence of the people is restored in the democratic institutions because of the authoritarian Congress-NC rule. H also accused State government for keeping pre-paid mobiles out of SMS jurisdiction. This is done by the Chief Minister to the undue benefit of the mobile service providers so that the consumers are compelled to purchase post-paid mobile SIMS. This is the most corrupt practice which can be compared to 2G Spectrum Scam. He warned that if ban on SMS delivery system on pre-paid mobiles is not lifted within seven days, the Panthers Party shall file writ petition in the Supreme Court against the illegal, malafide and corrupt act of J&K Chief Minister.
