| Educational Tour for valley students flagged in | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 23 Chinar Air Defence Brigade of Army conducted an educational and motivational tour from Kashmir to Vishakhapatnam for the school children drawn from different schools of Valley.
The tour which commenced on December 7 from Srinagar included 20 school children along with two teachers of Cambridge Mission School, Wanabal, District Badgam and Khalsa English School, Chittisingpura, District Anantnag.
The children visited Kolkata, Bhubanashwar, Gopalpur, Vishakhapatnam, Agra and New Delhi. The children had the opportunity to meet President of India Pratibha Devi Singh Patil at New Delhi on December which according to children was the highlight of this tour and a never forgetting experience.
The tour culminated at Srinagar today with a flagging in ceremony by Major General S K Khajuria, Chief of Staff, Chinar Corps in presence of parents and relatives of the children. Major General SK Khajuria in his closing address to the students in a function organised by the Air Defence Brigade at Badami Bagh Cantt, ‘Encouraged the young students to take the lesson learnt during the tour and communicate the same to the other children who were not fortunate to go on this tour’. He also wished the children a happy and prosperous future. The parents appreciated the Army for giving an opportunity to their children to visit other cities of the country.
