J&K folk artistes captivate audience at Udaipur | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDAIPUR, Dec 23: The J&K Cultural group comprising folk artist groups held the audience spell bound at the Shilpa mela at Udaipur, Rajasthan. The shilpa mela was jointly organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udhaipur and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. A strong group of around 40 Artists performed on the second day of the fair which was exclusively dedicated to the State of Jammu and Kashmir for its diverse cultural ethos. The star attraction of the programmes was Bhand Pather and Dhambali dances of Kashmir valley. Other dances performed in the mela included Kashmiri Rouff, and Dogri Jagrana song. The performance by the J&K cultural troupes outside the state was part of a series of such programmes being organized under Inter-cultural Dialogue aimed at showcasing the rich cultural ethos of the state. Besides showcasing talent of state artistes across the country the cultural dialogue provides chances to the state artistes to see the diverse cultural heritage of the country. The scheme of cultural dialogue was launched by the secretary Academy Zafar Iqbal Manhas last year under which number of groups have performed at various places like of India like Jaipur, Delhi, Ahmadbad, and Bangalore
