| SDM's wife lodges complaint against him in women cell | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 23: Sub-divisional magistrate (SDM), Basantgarh, Amit Sharma's wife today lodged a complaint against him in the women police cell, alleging harassment and mental torture by her in-laws. The complaint was registered by the women cell on the court
directions, police sources said.
In her complaint, Rakhi Sharma, a college lecturer, alleged that her husband wanted to divorce her, suspecting her love affair with a property agent.
She has demanded Rs 50 lakh from the SDM for giving him divorce. ew days back, Gandhinagar police had arrested property agent Amit Goel for manhandling the SDM and his old father at their residence at Gandhinagar.
Goel, who earlier ran a chemist shop on Purmandal road, had also threatened the SDM's father. After a verbal duel over phone with the SDM's father, Goel had forced his entry into their Gandhinagar house and manhandled the old man. When the SDM, who was home that time, tried to save his father, he too was manhandled, the sources added.
Goel, a small time property agent, wanted the SDM and his family to withdraw a case of defamation registered by them against him at the Pirmitha police station on April 12 last.
His wife had later called a press conference and levelled serious allegations against him.
Goel's wife had also lodged a complaint against him at the women cell.
