| PHE, Municipal authorities indifferent towards mohalla woes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU Dec 24: Expressing concern over apathetic and indifferent attitude of PHE and Municipal authorities towards the miseries infilcted by incessant leaking of water pipes in their area,the residents of Rajpura Mangotrian have urged the Chief Minister to look into the functioning of both these departments and see for himself what the officials are up to.
Narrating their woes, the residents explained the background of the problem saying a water pipe was laid through Lane number 14 Rajpura Mangotoriam to feed the adjacent Mohalla.Even though the work on which was started more than six months back, it was completed only a couple of months back.
In the this connection the cement tiles of the lane were lifted/ displaced which were re-installed thereafter by using insufficient and out- dated cement probably mixed with sub standard material, while some patches were cemented only with the said sub standard cement, without laying tiles again and yet some other patches were not cemented ,they alleged.
As a result of this pathy work, light vehicles passing through the lane has become hazardous now. The water pips so laid are also leaking heavily for the last about a month. Neither the PHE nor the municipal authorities care to take notice there of even after inviting the attention of an official, probably a Junior Engineer, who in turn exclaimed that nobody is going to stop his increment, teh aggrieved residents alleged.
" Will the P.H.E and Municipal authorities’, police, vigilance or even Crime Branch register and FIR against the erring officials after spot inspection material so used?", they asked.
